The first step is to take your empty spray bottle and fill halfway with fresh water, add about 10-12 drops of your essential oil and use to freshen sheets, clothes, furniture, or just to eliminate odors in the air. Another great way to use essential oils is in a bath to create relaxation. You can place a few drops of it in your bath water or in an oil burner to give off an invigorating, uplifting, or relaxing scent in your home.
Choose what type of oil you want to use in your home. Essential oils all have different uses and should be studied first to make sure your using it wisely. A few examples are the following essential oils: lemon, lavender, clove, and eucalyptus.
If you choose lemon and if used as a vapor: lemon oil can be used for colds, voice loss, flu, depression, stress, lack of energy and fatigue. Lemon also relieves irritation and also helps improve concentration, lifts the spirits, clears the mind and helps in decision making. Also lemon oil in water is a great way to clean and freshen counter tops in your kitchen. Take the essential oil and add to your water and spray bottle and go over your counter tops with the spray and a rag.
Eucalyptus can be used to freshen the air and can aide in sneezing, hay fever, flu, respiratory problems, as an insect repellent, headaches and for helping to improve concentration. Use the essential oil in an oil burner for the best results in getting the fragrance in the air. Clove is also a great oil that can be used in the air and it can be useful for bronchitis and dizziness and to help lift depression, while strengthening memory and fighting weakness and fatigue. Clove is very stimulating to your brain.
And lastly, lavender is a type of oil that can be useful for allergies, dizziness, sleeplessness, hay fever, headaches, depression, trauma, anxiety, hysteria, fear, nightmares, irritability, nervous tension and as an insect repellent. Apart from that it can assist to lift depression, sooth irritability and relieve stress and thereby help with tense muscles and muscle spasms. Lavender can be applied to your fingertips and inhaled in deep breaths through your nose or sprayed on blankets and sheets.
